About Me:

I live in a seemingly spiritually dead part of the world (local zaadsters by all means tell me I am wrong, I am completely open to it being proved otherwise), choked by concrete, and wishing to be free.

I believe in innate goodness in all people, despite what most think.  My hero Martin Luther King Jr said

“The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral, begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy. Instead of diminishing evil, it multiplies it. … Through violence you murder the hater, but you do not murder hate. In fact, violence merely increases hate…. Returning violence for violence multiples violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

and I believe these words totally, and maybe that is why I have for years felt myself drawn to trying to reach out for those who society sees as the “lowest of the low” and my experiences over the years have shown me so strongly that even those society dismisses as unworthy of even life, have something to give, something to offer, and if you hold out the hand of friendship you not only give them something they might have thought impossible, but it also brings to you something that is beyond expectation.  I have friends in some of the darkest places on the face of the earth, but even so they have shone a light into my life.

I am a strict vegetarian for moral reasons, and animal welfare is very high on my list of priorities.  I will never understand how a human can treat another living breathing creature with anything other than wonder and respect, and animal cruelty really gets to me.

I also wonder how those who call themselves animal lovers can sit and eat the corpse of a tormented creature who has undoubtedly lived a completely unnatural life and died a tortured, painful, terrified death at the hands of people who don't care what kind of pain and terror they inflict.
